# REAL Adaptive Process

> A leadership adaptivity assessment and development framework created by Olivier Masselot (ICF MCC) and
> published under licence by Real Quantum Leader LLP (London, UK). The REAL Profile measures 24 adaptive competencies across four domains — cognitive,
> emotional, behavioural and frustration — using 48 items completed in about 15 minutes, and returns
> a 50-page development report in individual or team form. Available in French and English.
> Approximately 3,000 profiles completed, 147 certified practitioners with 74 more in certification, and around 220 client organisations to date.
> Supported by six packaged e-learning programmes (about 60 video lessons) already sold at retail in French and fully translatable. Open to distribution,
> white-label and territory licensing worldwide; no exclusivity has been granted in any territory.

REAL measures adaptive response: how closely the response a leader actually produces under pressure matches
what the situation requires. The distance between the two is what the framework calls the response gap, and the score itself is the
R.E.A.L. Adaptive Response Index (ARI), commonly shortened to the R.E.A.L. Index: one headline number across
the 24 competencies, reported with its two components — collect, the 12 competencies used to gather information
without distorting it, and regulate, the 12 used to decide well and return to a settled state.
Unlike DISC, Hogan or MBTI, which describe stable style, personality or preference, REAL scores a
changeable skill set and maps each score to a defined development sequence. It is used by executive
coaches, consultants and corporate L&D teams.

IMPORTANT SCOPE: the REAL Profile is a development instrument. It is not validated or intended for
selection, hiring, promotion or succession decisions, and partners are asked not to position it for
those uses.
